What is the APVMA National Symposium?
The APVMA Symposium is an annual two-day event that brings together prospective pre-veterinary students from all over the country. This event is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the field of veterinary medicine. It is a great experience because it exposes and provides students with an opportunity to speak and network with representatives and admissions officers from different veterinary schools while attending. The National Symposium this year will be hosted by North Carolina State University!
The APVMA Symposium comes with many learning prospects, new friendships, and a greater sense of how to achieve the dreams of becoming a veterinarian. An entire day of the symposium is filled with lectures and hands-on labs pertaining to advances, techniques, and opportunities in the field of veterinary medicine. Lectures will be given by individuals in the field of veterinary medicine that have made significant contributions to the profession. While attending the APVMA symposium, scholarships will be awarded and students interested in running for the APVMA executive board are able to do so! Additionally, there are sessions about the veterinary application process, preparing for veterinary school and much more!
