Resiliency as a Pre-Veterinary Student Scholarship
This award is for students belonging to an APVMA pre-veterinary clubs or students who are registered as non-club affiliated members. This award will come with a $500 prize, that will be given to the selected pre-veterinary student(s) in their undergraduate studies. The award will be based any individual who has been resilient this year and has demonstrated perseverance through any obstacles faced. The winner(s) shall be determined by the APVMA Executive Board. A decision on the winners will be announced later this year.

BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) Pre-Veterinary Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to any BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color individual(s)) to offset the cost for their undergraduate studies. The award will come with a $500 prize. The winner(s) shall be determined by the APVMA Executive Board.

The amount of $1000 will be awarded to an undergraduate student who has completed exemplary research (the number of which is determined at the discretion of the APVMA Executive Board). This scholarship will be awarded based upon current or previous research being performed by the student and what they have learned from it. The winners will be announced at the APVMA National Symposium.

This award is intended for students who are members of the APVMA and are in their last year of undergraduate study. The amount of $500 in will be awarded to an undergraduate student who has an exemplary accomplishments during their time as an undergraduate student. The winner(s) will be announced at the APVMA National Symposium.

One Health Scholarship
This award is intended for students who are members of the APVMA and have a passion for the One Health Initiative. The amount of $1000 in will be awarded to an undergraduate student who has an exemplary understanding of the One Health Initiative (the number of which is determined at the discretion of the APVMA Executive Board). The winner(s) will be announced at the APVMA National Symposium.

Pride Scholarship
This award is intended for students who are members of the APVMA and are members of the LGBTQ+ community. The amount of $500 in will be awarded to an undergraduate student who is wanting to diversify veterinary medicine (the number of which is determined at the discretion of the APVMA Executive Board).

This award is for APVMA member pre-veterinary clubs. This is now a monetary award and the number of awards provided is at the discretion of the APVMA Executive Board. The award will be based on how well your club has helped to "promote and stimulate interest in veterinary medicine within your community." The winner(s) will be announced at the APVMA National Symposium.

Robert Van Saun Outstanding Advisor Award
In honor of Dr. Robert Van Saun—an advisor of the national APVMA board of fifteen years that is dedicated to helping pre-veterinary students receive the resources they need to pursue their goals—and his upcoming retirement, we would like to offer this award to pre-veterinary club advisors that embody his dedication, resilience, and passion for the field of veterinary medicine. To qualify for this award, you must submit a letter from your current pre-veterinary club president as well as a letter from an active club member both describing the nominated advisor and how they embody Dr. Van Saun’s legacy. The winner will be announced at the APVMA symposium and will be awarded free registration for the symposium the following year.

C.E.L.A BELIZE Scholarship
The Center for Engaged Learning Abroad, CELA Belize, sponsors one scholarship for APVMA members for $1,000 off the cost of a course or program (virtual or travel). CELA Belize offers study abroad options in Belize for pre-vet students in January and throughout the summer. Programs include wildlife, large animal veterinary medicine, and marine bio and conservation. CELA is known for its large animal field courses which take place on farms throughout Belize and offer students the chance to experience large animal veterinary practice in the tropics. CELA Belize is an affordable pre-veterinary study abroad program just 2 hours from Miami. College credit is available for these programs.
