BlackDVM Network was founded in 2018 by Dr. Tierra Price, a then veterinary student, who felt isolated in the profession. She was looking to connect with people who looked like her and find mentors she could relate to. Pride Veterinary Medical Community (VMC) is an organization that was founded by a group of LGBTQ+ individuals. Veterinarians as one Inclusive Community for Empowerment (VOICE) is a student-run organization that seeks to increase awareness, respect, and sensitivity to differences among all individuals and communities in the field of veterinary medicine. It was founded by students at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine to increase awareness and sensitive to social-cultural issues in the veterinary field. Latin Veterinary Medical Association
The Latin Veterinary Medical Association (LVMA) was founded by Juan Orjuela, a third-year veterinary students at the Ontario Veterinary College in Geulph and Yvette huizar, a fourth-fourth year veterinary student at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. They created this organization to increase the interest of veterinary medicine to latin veterinary professionals and students. LVMA is open to all latinx people of all genders and sexual orientations. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the Latinx culture is encouraged to join.
